Epidote is one of the most outstanding display materials. The finest and most desirable form of this mineral is in the delicate elongated crystal that is extremely lustrous and often interconnected. 

This form is highly treasured by collectors and creates one of the finest mineral showpieces.  The colour of Epidote is almost invariably green, in all the different shades and tones, with a pistachio colour habit being very typical.

Epidote is an abundant rock-forming mineral, but one of secondary origin. It occurs in marble and schistose rocks of metamorphic origin. It is also a product of hydrothermal alteration of various minerals (feldspars, micas, pyroxenes, amphiboles, garnets, and others) composing igneous rocks.
