Resin incense has a uniquely scented history that has been used for
purification, religious purposes, heightening spiritual awareness and
bringing pure enjoyment for thousands of years.

Incense resins are natural substances such as frankincense, copal and
myrrh which are harvested from gum trees. … Just a sprinkle of resin
creates a rich, aromatic smoke and fragrance. Natural resins are really
the original incense, as it is obtained directly from incense trees in
its most pure and natural form. Resins are obtained from the sap, bark
roots or wood of trees, shrubs and plants. Frankincense, Myrrh, Benzoin,
Copal, Dragon’s Blood, Palo Santo, and Styrax are among the most
commonly used.

Can you burn resin incense without charcoal?

You can use other types of liquid oil, such as olive oil or sunflower
seed oil. These will add some fragrance to the burning incense.
